Barracuda Point, Sipadan Island Voted Top Dive Site by CNN Travel

When you dive Sipadan Island, Barracuda Point is one of the main highlights there. Diving with Barracudas in the hundreds surrounding you is just an experience you will not likely forget.

Every year, CNN Travel gets feedback from divers around the world and ranks the top dive sites. Barracuda Point is often voted as one of the top 10 dive sites in the world. Last year, it was voted number 1!

Barracuda Point can be an intimidating experience. Fish stream along like traffic here, as if the streets of New Delhi have descended underwater. During these chaotic scenes, you may find yourself in the center of a giant barracuda tornado, while hammerhead sharks and flapping rays nonchalantly cruise past.

  1. I used to scared of water, even swimming in a pool makes me nervous. Last year I was on an vacation with my family on an island in Sabah. I was encouraged to experience snorkel. The moment when I was extremely scared but still decided to give a try, it totally changed my impression of sea. It is like another world down there. Now I conquered myself and I want to learn diving during my time in Malaysia.

    • Hello Xinyin,

I’m so happy to hear that you decided to give snorkelling a try in spite of your fears. The underwater world is amazing and beautiful isn’t it? After diving for so many years, I still look forward to the next dive.

We look forward to hearing of your new diving adventures!
